All the bits finally arrived to build the Angriest Ron (as opposed to our own Ron from FTW), so I cobbled together all the parts into one hulking monstrosity!
In the Tempus Fugitives codex, Angron is armed with either his pair of chainaxes Gorefather and Gorechild, or his single two-handed axe Godtearer. I settled on the latter, using some bits from the Ork Nobs' Big Choppas.
He's also armed with a master crafted Plasma Pistol as well as Frag Grenades and a Melta Bomb, so I ensured that I added them to the model as well. Wherever possible I try to make my models WYSIWYG, as that helps remind me what they're armed with on the tabletop as well!
My buddy Dave gave me some jeweler's chain to add a little flavor to the model (and to hide a couple unsightly gaps). All in all I'm well pleased with how he turned out - compared to a guardsman he's sufficiently massive to represent the Primarch of the World Eaters. I'm definitely looking forward to getting some paint on him!
Blimey that was a quick turn around you were only planning it the other week. Just reminds me of how slooooow i am. He looks stunning the upper torso fits those legs near perfectly. You still doing his rage inducing brain wire errrr thingys still?

Nice work! I'll be honest though and this may just be that I'm seeing him before any paint as that may tie him together better.
ReplyDeleteI wonder... would some rivets or raised trim added to his hip armour plates help tie the shoulderpads to the lower torso armour in terms of style?
It may be nothing in the end after paint brings everything together, but it jumped out to me when I first saw him.
Ron, FTW
Thanks folks!
ReplyDelete@Blitzspear - I tried a couple thin wires but couldn't quite get the look right. I'm just going to go with painting them on, or at least that's the plan...
@Ron - There's a bit of rivet work on the legs that I'll be tying together paint-wise, but you do raise a good point. I'll have to see what I can come up with!
Wow,That is phenomenal really captures the Angry in Angron, mind if I ask where the Torso's from?
ReplyDeleteThanks! The torso and arms are from the Heresy Miniatures "Big Boris" range from their Barbarians series. They do several various poses of him, but this one seemed to fit my needs the best. I was pleasantly surprised that the scale worked so well with the terminator legs too!
ReplyDeleteAh, Thanks, that is a suprise, I would have thought Boris would be too small, but he goes together really well. Again awesome job
