Barely hanging on to the slender thread of sanity at this point - over 600 rivets later, and the Shadowsword is almost ready for weathering!
Added in the usual occult symbols and XV numeration - The 15th Prosperine Assault Infantry number ties in nicely with the XV legion markings on the Thousand Sons (thereby making it suitable for use in either detachment as needed). Little cleanup required yet, but most of the truly sloppy bits might just get covered up with some weathering!
Quite happy with the Blood and Skulls Industries add-ons, really gives the model some personality. I cannot recommend Tom McBride's add-on kits enough! Supposed to have a couple warm days coming up early next week, hoping to get it finished and sealed soon!
600 rivets...? yeah, about that...
ReplyDeleteBut looks like it is worth it. It really makes it pop to have all those rivets stick out.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress, looks awesome. I feel for you with all those rivets...
ReplyDeleteIt looks brilliant. Surely can't be much left to do, it already looks finished!
ReplyDeleteI really like the round sponsons, are they from a third party supplier?
I don't know... I feel like gold was the wrong color for the rivets. Better start over :P
ReplyDeleteRiveting - I'll get my coat...
ReplyDeleteLooking sweet. Thise rivets must be a pain but the overall look makes it so worth ita,
ReplyDelete@Da Masta Cheef: Haha!
ReplyDelete@Joe B.: Thanks - the effort was worth it in the end. :)
@Siph_Horridus: Thanks, man!
@Colonel Winterborne: Pretty close indeed! The sponsons are a relatively new kit from Blood and Skulls Industries - he does some really cool replacement pieces.
@Zab: Haha! Not. A. Chance. :)
@Stephen: Booo! Terrible pun-ishment for you!
@Nafnaf: Cheers man!
Coming along nicely! Hand painted markings are rather splendid!
ReplyDeleteYarp. Looks good. I really think that the Blood & Skulls bits make it look non-standard - ie 30K ish. Good choices.
ReplyDeleteDo you dream in rivets now? "Oh good, this model only has 450 rivets!"
ReplyDeleteWhere didnthe rear access hatch come from??
ReplyDeleteThey're from Blood and Skulls industries on ebay: http://stores.ebay.com/Blood-and-Skulls-Industry
