Inq28 - Ordo Xenos Inquisitorial Warband nearly complete!

As part of the planned Armies on Parade force, I'd opted to include an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor and her warband. The Inquisitor is only primed so not interesting to look at but I did crack on with the 5-man Stormtrooper team over the last couple days!

I wanted to keep with a dark moody theme for the Stormtoopers armor and fatigues, and gave them some pretty strong spot colors to help them pop. I tried to steer clear from the strong red and blue spot colors of the Deathwatch, so went with some fiery yellow and jade greens instead. These blokes have been sitting in a quarter-painted state for YEARS, it really feels good to finally get them finished! Was a little damp outside this afternoon so they have yet to be sealed, but I'm quite pleased with how they turned out!

In addition to the Stormtroopers, I wanted to include some more flavorful characters. You can't have a warband without an Assassin, right? The Inquisitor's personal Astropath Brother Vicente provides communication and psychic oversight, while as befitting Inquisitor Phocris' Radical-leaning nature she is often accompanied by her personal Jokaero, affectionately known as Euclid. These three models were painted months and years ago, so were just given a little touchup here and there and had their bases repainted to match the current scheme. Job done!

Next up, the Inquisitor herself!

Nice colour scheme on the storm troopers. Inwoukd suggest trying to get one of the older assassins, I think it would fit more with this era of advisors as they kept them quite small in comparison to the marines and normal guard, which was a good move imo. Makes them more human and exaggerates the scale of the super humans.

Always good to get something long in your back log finished. Bravo on that.

What are the board plans?

Nice, and I love the glowing monkey eyes.

Any plans for a weird servitor?

Very nice. Love the stormies. They could almost have been recruited from the M7th....

Looking good! that assassins is some serious heresy ;)

@Bronislaw Czevak: Thanks! I think you're right on the Assassin front - this one is a little out of place. I did turn up one of the older death-cult models that will be a bit more suitable. Chers!

@Rory Priest: Thanks! The boards have been built and primered, need to pick up some craft paints in the approximately correct colors to match the bases of the army, hope to get some shots of them soon!

@Col. Hertford: Every Inquisitor oughtta have a monkey!

@#2501: Thanks! Aye, there's a few more models that will be done as part of her warband but at the moment it's just these for points purposes for the army. She's going to get several other Xenos agents as well!

@Zzzzzz: Haha! These are absolutely leftover models from the last incarnation of the 7th that I never got around to finishing. ;)

@Francesc: Thanks man! Indeed she is!

I appreciate the kind words, everyone!

Stormtrooper scheme works really well. Makes them all "elite forces" looking and rather reminiscent of a certain paint scheme I saw on this very blog not all that long ago?

I really like Inquisitorial squads in general purely due to the sheer mix of different types of troops you can include in them. Really liking the eclectic feel of the three you've painted up thus far. I like the assassin - far more brutal looking than the standard S&M style that's typically chosen.

Space Orangutan's eyes are perfect!

Are you delving into the Genestealer Cults, too? The sculpts for the acolytes look prety good, although I think on the whole the Overkill sculpts are better. They have a neat new truck as well.

@Dai: Thanks man! Aye, they were originally intended for use with the glorious 7th. :)

@#2501: Oh my yes. The Cult is the reason I bought Overkill in the first place, and I'm absolutely looking forward to the release of the codex. Perhaps some suborned members of the Mordian 7th may be making an appearance...
