Eldar - (subset of) The army going onto the auction block

With GenCon rapidly approaching, and the unexpected cost of a new pair of glasses cropping up last week, it's time to put the Eldar up for sale. I'd been waffling about what exactly was going up on the block as I did want to keep a small allied contingent for my guard. I finally settled on what that would be (Bonesinger, Wraithblades, Corsairs and the Crimson Hunter) but the rest is getting the chop. I went through and snapped a new set of pics of what all will be up for sale over the next couple days, and figured I'd share 'em here:

HQ
Farseer

Spiritseer

Warlock Council

ELITES
Fire Dragons

Striking Scorpions

TROOPS
Dire Avengers

Guardian Defenders

FAST ATTACK
Warp Spiders

HEAVY SUPPORT
Falcon

Wraithlord

Wraithknight

DEDICATED TRANSPORTS
Wave Serpent 1

Wave Serpent 2

APOCALYPSE
Tempest

All in all I really had a blast painting this army, all the various color schemes helped to stave off Army Painter's Fatigue and it was surprisingly easy to stay on task and keep cranking them out. Expect to see a lot more Hobby ADHD over the next few months as I ricochet crazily around the half dozen other projects that lurk within the Closet of Doom!

Eldar - The army so far...

Just a quick post today - Couple folks have asked for a group shot of the Eldar, so I laid them out in roughly the same setup as the painting chart and snapped a pic over my lunchbreak today while I had some relatively decent light:

It's definitely a colorful army! I have gotten the basic blue laid down on the Dire Avengers, I'm trying to ensure they are done up in a different style/shade of blue from the earlier Guardians - a little lighter, and done in a wash-over-white primer style similar to the Fire Dragons and Striking Scorpions. I dabbled with the Warp Spiders but didn't like the 'brown recluse' scheme so they'll likely get a bath in Simple Green and start anew soon!

Eldar - Striking Scorpions painted, and a tiny bit more Wraithknight

I wanted to finish up the half-done Striking Scorpions unit from earlier, and was able to find some brush time in over the last couple days. The lion's share of the work was already done, so it was just a matter of picking out the details!

I'm pretty pleased with how the green on green worked out, and I tried to continue on the yellow stripe spot color to the weapons. Gave the pouches and holsters a khaki base followed by some devlan mud in the recesses. Once that was done they got the standard  graveyard earth and dark flesh on the base followed by a little static grass.

The rear of the models shows the light green undersuit and darker green armor plates, as well as the ever popular dreadlocks. As we all know, scorpions are known for their dreadlocks!

While waiting for the bases to dry I finished off the yellow trim on the Wraithknight and started picking out the 80-some odd gemstones. That stage is gonna take a while to finish!

Eldar - Striking Scorpions in progress

It's been reasonably temperate of late which has meant it's not a sauna up in the hobby loft and I've been taking advantage - managed to get a little more work done laying in the base colors for the Striking Scorpions! I have to say it's been really fun to work on small units like this as opposed to my usual 20-or-30-at-a-time batch painting madness - especially since, although the models are all from the same unit, they're all much more unique sculpt-wise than the bog-standard imperial guardsman.

I'm going with more of a traditional color scheme with the scorpions, though much like the fire dragons they're getting the lighter colored bodysuit and darker armor plates look, all in shades of green this time. Started off with a Biel-Tan green wash over white primer, then I picked out the various armor plates in Snot Green, followed by a further green wash over just the armor plates. I also started adding in the yellow stripes on the various armor bits, the facemasks and the Exarch's power claw.

I'm thinking that gold-plated weapons for these guys should set off against the green pretty well, though I'm open to suggestions. These models also have a lot more going on than the fire dragons as far as extra kit goes, there are quite a few pouches, grenades and suchlike on each model so there will be room to add in some other spot colors here and there. So far, so good!
