Space Hulk - Filthy Xenos completed!
Snuck in a couple more hours of brush time over the last few days and finished off the Space Hulk Genestealers!
Overall I'm pretty happy with them. The sculpts were a little odd once I got a closer look at them, lots of areas on the undersides which are just sort of blobs of plastic. Most of that sort of thing is hidden from the eye and I tried to de-emphasize it during the painting process. That said, they are definitely cool models, tons of personality to 'em!
Really dig the Broodlord model - far better than the old 'shouting at the sky' model they did for 40k. Next up, the Terminators!

Looking good with the traditional color scheme!!!
ReplyDeleteTrying desperately to keep the shrink wrap on mine for the next two months, you're making it very difficult!
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty! I love the classic colour scheme and the glowing eyes finish them perfectly! It is the exact contrast to the skin - I love it!
ReplyDeleteJealous, I only have ten of the more standard poses out of the set, still they do look a little more beefy than the current Genestealer or Macragge snap fit models.
ReplyDeleteReally evil looking. Great scheme!
ReplyDeleteLooking good. I have my box bought by family for an Xmas present (before it sells out) so have to wait until I can get my hands on it. Seeing a great paint job like this really makes me excited to get mine. Can't wait to see the terminators you do :)
ReplyDelete@Da Masta Cheef: Thanks man! Trying to stick to the classic look for this set!
ReplyDelete@Matthew Beavis: Hahs!
@Col. Ackland: Thanks very much!
@Dave Weston: Overall I think they have a lot of personality, but individually there are some dodgy sculpts in the set.
@Greg Hess: Cheers!
@Nafnaf: It really is a cool set, I look forward to seeing what you do with yours!
Cheers everyone!
Nice work! .. they have that old school stealer look to them 8)
ReplyDeleteSo much more character than my 1st edition Stealers. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that you stuck to the original blue/purple scheme too.
Happy with that :-)
ReplyDelete@Todd Sherman: Thanks very much, man!
ReplyDelete@Dai: Indeed, the new sculpts have a ton of personality. I appreciate the kind words!
@Stephen: Cheers bud!
Red glowing eyes! The old-school hypnotic gaze! Very Nice!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work
ReplyDelete@Battybattybats: Thanks very much!
ReplyDelete@Gothmog: Cheers, man!
