Imperial Guard - Macharius Omega painting in progress

It's been a crazy week full of catching up on work after vacation, and getting ready for a gig this past Saturday so I've had no hobby time whatsoever. However, today was quiet enough to get some brush time in!


  

Got the basic colors on the Macharius Omega, with the standard black, red and yellow. I also tried to do a 'plasma pulse' effect on the coils which I think worked out fairly well. Still a ways to go with the crewmen, and the fine detail yet to be done.

 

Snapped a quick comparison shot with the Leman Russ Executioner, and I'm pretty pleased how they tie together so far!

    Wow, that is an impressive looking tank!
    You managed to assemble it and get to painting it remarkably fast. Looks great thus far. I really like the yellow and the 'pulse' on the plasma coils.

    It does match the executioner very well. But for some reason, when I opened the page I was a little shocked that it had come out so bright.

    @Zzzzzz: Aye, the weapon housing really brightens up the model. With it being such a big brick of black it really needed something to help it pop. ...May have over-corrected slightly. Heh.

    M7, I suspect not; to me it looks to proportionally match the other tank. So I wouldn't go changing it too soon, give it a year or so and see how you feel after that.
